The Autonomous Public Electing Commission (INEC) has said the Chief General of the Work Party (LP) official mission board, Associated Osuntokun, stays the Apex Work Party (ZLP) senatorial possibility for Ekiti Focal Senatorial Zone.Osuntokun was declared as the LP lobby DG on Tuesday.He took over from Doyin Okupe who surrendered after he was sentenced for penetrating the Illegal tax avoidance Act.The arrangement of Osuntokun has since set many people talking.It is hazy on the off chance that Osuntokun authoritatively surrendered to Work Party.Osuntokun with all due respect, made sense of that he had deserted his senatorial desire under ZLP to take up Obi's mission DG post.Yet, INEC Chief for Data and Citizen Schooling, Festus Okoye, made sense of that Osuntokun stays the ZLP senatorial up-and-comer as the period for withdrawal and replacement of applicants had passed.
As indicated by INEC's schedule for the 2023 races, July 15 was the last day for the withdrawal and replacement of applicants by ideological groups for official and public gathering decisions.
"The window for pull out and replacement in light of our plan and the constituent demonstration 2022 has shut.
"No competitor can pull out, and none can come in besides through a court request," Okoye said.
In the mean time, the ZLP in a proclamation seen by The Country, endorsed by its public director, Dan Nwanyanwu said Osuntokun had left the party in August 2022.
Nwanyanwu, a previous Work Party director, added that the ZLP holds no feelings of resentment against him for evacuating.
"The debate produced by the arrangement of Mr Associated Osuntokun as the DG of H/E Peter OBI Mission Association is inappropriate," the assertion peruses.
"Associated Osuntokun left the Peak Work Party since August 2022 and subsequently at this point not an individual from our Party.
"Before his renunciation from ZLP, he held the ticket as a Senatorial Competitor in Ekiti State.
"As at the hour of his acquiescence, we were unable to supplant him in light of the fact that the window permitted by the Discretionary Represent replacement had slipped by.
"We hold no hard feelings since it is his essential right to partner and exit from any association.
"We wish him well in his newly discovered greener field."
