The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have received a few jolts in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). First up, their star pacer, Jofra Archer was ruled out of the entire 2021 edition of the IPL even before the tournament began.

Then, all-rounder, Ben Stokes injured his finger and has flown back to England after featuring in just a single match. The woes for the Sanju Samson-led outfit continued, after the likes of Andrew Tye and Liam Livingstone opted out of the tournament midway.

And now, news has come in that Rassie Van Der Dussen has joined the Rajasthan camp, but has not yet completed his quarantine period. Van Der Dussen has not even featured in a single match in the IPL thus far.

However, Rassie Van Der Dussen has an excellent record in T20I cricket. The right-hander has featured in 20 matches for the South African side and has scored 628 runs at an impressive average of 41.87. He has also scored his runs at a splendid strike rate of 138.63.

Van Der Dussen has been in scintillating form in T20I cricket. His scores in his last 5 T20I innings read 37,25*,74*,34*, and 52. And, amidst a spree of injuries that the Rajasthan side has suffered, Van Der Dussen, who is in good form with the willow will be a good addition.

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have experienced a poor start to the 2021 edition of the IPL. The ‘Men in Pink’ have won just 2 out of the 5 matches that they have played thus far and are languishing at 7th place in the IPL points table.

In their previous encounter against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the Rajasthan side managed to get back to winning ways and won the match comfortably with 6 wickets and 7 balls to spare. The Rajasthan Royals will next be seen in action on the field on 29th April 2021 against the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

The Rajasthan Royals have won the IPL title once, in the year 2008. In the 2020 edition of the IPL, they finished at the last place in the points table.
