In the latest interview of Bgs Raw, we have a tik tok star, Niharika Jain. She is a digital creator as well as an influencer too. She has recently crossed 2 million-plus followers on tik tok with 46.4 million hearts. As she mentioned that on 11 august 2019 she uploaded her first video. Q. Tell us something about yourself.
A. Hi, I’m Niharika Jain. I’m perusing Masters in Mass Communication & Journalism. I can sum up my entire personal and professional life in three words – I can win! My parents & My friends, both would vouch for the fact that I have havoc wrecking never-say-die spirit!
Q. When did you decide to influence TikTok? Also, tell when did you upload your first video, and what was the title or theme?
A. I always admired how people work so hard to create content and entertain people. I used to create fashion/Lifestyle content on Instagram and one day thought of putting it on TikTok.
On 11th August 2019, I upload my first video called “How to convert your scarf into a top” and since then I never stopped.
Q. Now you're all ready famous on TikTok. Did you think you'll gain such a huge audience i.e., 2 million right?
A. I never thought I would get so much love and support on TikTok. Today I have got a family of 2 million and it’s not less than a dream.
Q. What is your parent's reaction to your social presence. Do your family happy with your decision?
A. My parents are so proud of me. At first, it was hard to make them understand why I’m leaving my job and making this my full-time career but now when they see me growing and happy at the same time, they feel relaxed and support me.
Q. What did you think to become in childhood?
A. A Doctor
Q. Let us know your goals and future plans?
A. I think Goals create pressure which could be either useful or useless depending upon the situation. That’s why I believe in going with the flow and seeking new challenges for myself. I try to think out-of-the-box while looking for creative solutions to a given problem. I am a quick learner and believe in learning from my mistakes for I strongly feel that this virtue will take me ahead in life and career.
Q. TikTok was creating a bad presence due to accidents that were happening in the past(like stunts, driving a car, jumping to the river to shoot the videos, etc), so any suggestion you like to put on this for the readers.
A. I’d say “Everything in excess is opposed to nature”. Tiktok is a tool that can be used to spread awareness, entertain masses, and whatnot. Trying to get famous using wrong techniques has never done right to people on any platform.
Q. Do you think these platforms are giving a chance to talents and value peoples. How TikTok change your life too?
A. TikTok is all about presenting a larger than life personality of yours. There are lots of creators who have become so confident in their real life, all thanks to TikTok. By daily facing the camera, some of them have really come out of their comfort zones and they have experienced a different dimension of their own personality. I’ve noticed so many changes in my thinking process, creativity, content research, and other stuff because of the content that I see on TikTok. It has definitely added value to my life.
Q. How do you shoot your videos, do you have a team or anyone who helps you out in that stuff?
A. I don’t have a team as of now, I shoot all my video using my iPhone 8.
Q. Since you have huge fans on Instagram and TikTok, so are the brands reaching out for collaborations.
A. Yes, brands approach for collaborations.
Q. Besides content creating what is the thing you do?
A. I’m perusing Masters in Mass Communication & Journalism. And as per the professional life is concerned, I’m a full-time content creator now.
Q. What was your struggle to reach this platform today.
A. I’ve struggled for 3 years on Instagram as a fashion blogger and I never thought that I’d become a full-time content creator but all thanks to the people who loved my content on TikTok and showered so much love on me that I’ve become a full-time content creator in just 6 months.
Q. How do you handle stress and pressure?
A. I remove myself from the situation, take time to look at it from all angles, and then attack whatever is causing me stress in the most efficient way.
Q. Recently we started an initiative to feature and also give value to stories of the social creators through our website Bgs Raw. So let me know what do you think about us.
A. That’s a great initiative. It motivates the creators to work harder and also adds value to their work because people like you are there to appreciate their hard work.
Q. When was your first collaboration? How did you approach them?
A. On TikTok it was in September, the company approached me. But otherwise, it was 3 years ago when I started my fashion blog.
Q. Your profile was verified so you're now a star. And every star has fans, so tell when was your fan moment.
A. So, it was before my profile got verified. I was at a flea market, sitting on stairs because I was tired and these two girls come up and say “Ap to Niharika Jain ho na, Oh shit! hum apko follow krte hain ap bohot acchi videos banate ho. Can we please take a selfie?”. I never imagined that something like this can ever happen to me and I was awestruck.
Q. Any message you want to convey to our audience and your fans.
A. I just want to thank each and every one of you for your consistent support, For inspiring me to be the best I can possibly be, for always keeping faith in me and making me realize that yes I can do it.
