Ganesh Chaturthi is a ten-day Hindu festival celebrated to honor the elephant-headed God Ganesha's birthday. He is the younger son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. He is honored at the start of rituals and ceremonies as he's considered the God of beginnings. As when Hindu begins any religious function, so at very first they worship to Lord Ganesha and then worships the goddess.
Avahana(आवाहन) Mantra:
This puja should start with an invocation and one must chant following mantras in front of Murti(statue). It has lots of mudras which are actioned under a saint.
हे हेरम्बा त्वमेह्वेहीह्याम्बिकात्र्यम्बकात्मजा |
सिद्धि-बुद्धि पते त्र्यक्ष लक्शालाà¤ा पितुह पितः ||
नगस्वं नागहारम तवं गणराजम चतुर्à¤ुजं |
à¤ूषिताम स्ययुशौदाव्यिः पशंकुशापराशावाधिः||
अवहयामी पूजार्थं रक्षार्थं च मम क्रितोह |
इहगात्य गृहण तवं पुजम यगम च रक्षा में ||
He Heramba Tvamehyehi Hyambikatryambakatmaja।
Siddhi-Buddhi Pate Tryaksha Lakshalabha Pituh Pitah॥
Nagasyam Nagaharam Tvam Ganarajam Chaturbhujam।
Bhushitam Svayudhaudavyaih Pashankushaparashvadhaih॥
Avahayami Pujartham Rakshartham Cha Mam Kritoh।
Ihagatya Grihana Tvam Pujam Yagam Cha Raksha Me॥
